I bought this unit initially for my wife. The sounds was so clear I got another one for myself. Everyone hears me clearly. Easy set up too. I would highly recommend this for people who are in their car alot and don't use a headset bluetooth.

Quiet operation, that's about it...

I bought this fan mainly due to its 'quiet' operation. Sunpentown doesn't offer much choice when it comes to "getting your money's worth", for example; the next model down wasn't that much difference in money but offered much less so I settled for this top-of-the-line model instead. I got home and assembled the sucker (based on common sense) in literally 4 minutes. Everything seemed to work fine, but a couple hours later it started to make some soft clicking noise when it is operating in vertical oscillating (up/down) mode. I took the back cover off and discovered a screw that was holding the up/down lever came loose, so I went ahead and tighten it, but as soon as it goes into oscillating modes, it rotates the screw out causing it to tip over and holding it by the edge, therefore creating this annoying clicking sound. Needless to say, I returned it for another of the same one.

This other one seemed to hold up a bit better but appears to have a mind of its own and other little problems as well which I am not gonna get into and bore you to death with it - as least already for me.
Okay, back to the fan; I do like the features where you can also control by a [flimsy] remote that was included with the unit, it also claimed to have a "built-in Ionizer" - I don't see how for a regular fan, but oh well, if it does then great.
The plastic housing is quite sturdy but quality control seems to be a bit more "out of control" then what it should to be. I basically have to take the housing cover off and added more grease to certain places for it to work efficiently. The last unit that was returned plus this one has little nicks and smudges all over the place making one thinking whether they're really getting a factory-sealed product or refurbished item. Well, I can assure you that it is in fact new; in addition to the product, you're just getting along some bad Quality Control mgmt and poor handling from the assembly line that's all - quite normal I guess if it's made in China (I say this because practically every darn product I owned that was made/mfg/assembled there are broken).

The price for this particular brand/model wasn't cheap, and retailing at $60-$90 (I paid $67 b/f taxes - and I don't mind paying much more for quality products). I honestly thought that I would be getting something much more in terms of built quality until I opened the box and took it for a spin - in my case: x2.
Having said, the fan isn't all that bad. Besides its poor workmanship and was cheaply mfg, although it does a fairly good job in cooling my small one bedroom apartment quietly during my sleep. However, this newly exchanged unit failed to shut-off at the '1Hr-Timer Off' mode and ran all night. It did however adhere to the 1hr-Timer mode the next time (again, a mind of its own).

Pros:
*Quiet operation
*Multiple adjustments (Head Tilt, Height Stand)
*3-Way Oscillating modes
*Remote Controlled
*Timer Off (1-4 Hrs)
*Natural Wind mode
*Very easy to assemble and operate (can do without the provided instructions)

Cons:
*1 Hr Timer Off function failed to work
*Poor workmanship
*Poor 'Quality Control'
*Borderline quality
*Remote is useful, yet very cheap and flimsy
*Oscillation is not as smooth as it should be (needs to be greased maybe? Again, quality control issue)
*Priced too high compared to quality.
*Placement of function controls; it would of been nice if it's placed higher up to the stalk or shaft for easy control (this is just a personal preference)
*Made in China (you can agree or disagree with me on this one)

Best fan I have ever used

When I first opened the box, it seemed too small and the height seemed not high enough. However, I judged too soon. It is quiet, powerful despite the size and best of all -- it has a remote control that allows you to change all its settings from across the room. The best feature that I liked is the oscillation settings -- most fans only go horizontal. This one can go vertical, which overcame its short height and the super cool wavy oscillation mode, a great way to distribute cool air all over a room and cool down the room fast. This feature alone beats all those expensive vornado vortex fans hands down. Not only it saves energy with a max of 49W used, it also has a sleep mode setting, which I have yet to try. This is the best fan I have ever used and I will get another soon for my other room.

Quiet and Powerful Fan

SPT is probably the best fan maker in th world. Most fans are noisy and don't provide enough air flow. This fan is perfect.
